“What we call little things are merely the causes of great things; they are the beginning, the embryo, and it is the point of departure which, generally speaking, decides the whole future of an existence.” (Henri Frederic Amiel)

Street at Sunset
I have mixed feelings about this one. I love the colors (the original has a little more richness than this photo), and the soft atmospheric quality, and I really like the overall composition. But the rendering of the architecture is a little quirky. I'd like to paint more Galveston street scenes, and perhaps will try this one again eventually. (No. 52, 6x8", on Raymar panel, Oct. 16, 2012)
