“What we call little things are merely the causes of great things; they are the beginning, the embryo, and it is the point of departure which, generally speaking, decides the whole future of an existence.” (Henri Frederic Amiel)

The Bad Ship Nadir
This painting is not really of a ship named the "Nadir," but it is such a horrible misportrayal of the intended subject (a lovely, graceful schooner) that to avoid insulting the actual vessel and embarrassing myself further, I am not revealing the subject's true name. Even my sweet husband could think of nothing good to say about it. But let us put the bad ship Nadir behind us. Since I've done more than 50 more daily paintings since this one, I will say that it gets better from here! (No. 8, 6x8", on Raymar panel, Aug. 30, 2012)
