This is the second time that I painted I-10 for the daily painting project (the other time was #69, posted in this blog on May 6, 2013). Both are from photos taken on a road trip heading east through Texas. I really like both of these images -- I think it's because (1) they convey a sense of distance with the road receding away, (2) I like the soft muted quality of the colors, and (3) to me a highway evokes a feeling of adventure or undertaking into the unknown. (No. 97, 6x6", on Gessobord, Dec. 12, 2012). Here's a small version of #69 for comparison:
